The World Championship Slide Slide Competition

The annual world championship slide competition attracts competitors from all ends of the spectrum, from experienced scientists to long time mathematicians, from slide rule collectors to those perusing online engineering degrees.


   The 2014 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held March 22, 2014 in Irving, Texas. The results:

  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner using a K&E 4081-3
  • 2nd - Jay Francis using a Post 1450
  • 3rd (tie) - Gary Hendley using a K+E 4081-3
                   - Mark Johnson using an Aristo 970


   The 2013 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held March 9, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner
  • 2nd - Gary Hendley


   The 2012 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held March 10, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner
  • 2nd - Mike Yancey


   The 2011 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held March 12, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner
  • 2nd - Brad Bradfield

   The 2010 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held March 13, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner
  • 2nd - Raymond Magyar


   The 2009 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held on March 14, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner
  • 2nd - Courtenay Martin


   The 2008 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held on March 8, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner
  • 2nd - Mike Miller


   The 2007 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held on March 10, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • 1st - Bennie Tschoerner using a K&E 4081-3
  • 2nd - Mike Miller using a POST Versalog
  • 3rd - Duane Croft using a CONCISE 300


   The 2006 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held on March 4, in Irving, Texas. The results:
  • Tie 1st Place - Mike Miller using a F/C 2/83N
  • Tie 1st Place - Mike Yancey using a Picket 905-ES Texas Speed Rule.

   The 2005 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held on March 5, in Arlington, Texas. The results:
  • 1st Place - Mike Yancey
  • 2nd Place - Jay Francis
  • 3rd Place - Joe Fields
   A K&E Deci-Lon was the winning slide rule.
   The 2004 World Championship Slide Rule Competition was held on October 23, in Arlington, Texas. The results:
  • 1st Place - Jay Francis
  • 2nd Place - Raymond Magyar
  • 3rd Place - John Emmons
   A Post 1460 Versalog was the winning slide rule.
   The 2003 World Championship Slide Rule Competition results:
  • 1st Place - Mike Yancey
  • 2nd Place - Jerry Merryman
  • 3rd Place - Jay Francis

   The 2002 World Championship Slide Rule Competition results:
  • 1st Place - Allen Streater
  • 2nd Place - Mike Yancey
  • 3rd Place - Jay Francis

   The 2001 World Championship Slide Rule Competition results:
  • 1st Place - Mike Yancey
  • 2nd Place - Debby Hewitt
